French-American violinist Juliette Greer is a captivating and versatile musician who touches audiences with her vivid performances as a chamber musician, soloist, and ensemble player. A finalist in the 2022 International Bach Competition in Leipzig, Juliette has a passion for baroque music in its deeply human expression and its visceral power to connect to audiences. She performed J.S. Bach’s A minor Concerto with the Mendelssohn Kammerorchester of Leipzig and was awarded Fourth Place, praised in particular for her performance of the Bach D minor Chaconne.
Juliette merges her experience on period instruments with a freshly invigorated approach to music from all centuries. With her quartet, Quartet Amizia, she is a Fellow at the Valley of the Moon Music Festival, where she regularly performs 19th century music on gut strings and mentors young artists in chamber music. Quartet Amizia enjoys collaborations on gut and steel strings, most recently recording Schumann 2nd String Quartet during an Artist Residency at Yellow Barn.
A devoted chamber musician, she has had the privilege of studying with mentors in the Juilliard, Takacs, Cavani, Borromeo, and Cleveland String Quartets, and has spent summers playing chamber music at Kneisel Hall, Perlman Chamber Music Program Workshop, and Thy Chamber Music Festival. Most recently she appeared at the Miesbach Kammermusikfestival in Germany where her performance of David Balakrishnan’s Confetti Man was recorded for Munich radio. In May 2024 she toured the UK playing Bach B Minor Mass with Juilliard415, and in October 2025 she led the New York-based chamber ensemble EchoNova for their debut concert in a program of Lully, Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Meyer on baroque and modern instruments. She has enjoyed other collaborations during her time in New York City, including a Carnegie Hall debut with the fiery baroque ensemble Twelfth Night, and a concert tour with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
She studied with Ayano Ninomiya at New England Conservatory and with Andrés Cárdenes at Carnegie Mellon University, where she served as concertmaster of the CMU Philharmonic for two years, culminating in a solo performance of Beethoven Violin Concerto in September 2022 at Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh, PA. She has led her colleagues in the NEC Symphony and Juilliard Orchestra as concertmaster during her undergrad and graduate degrees and in August 2024, she led the Orchestre de Paris Académie as concertmaster in a concert at the Philharmonie de Paris. Other profound musical influences have been Merry Peckham, Joseph Lin, Laurie Smukler, and Areta Zhulla.
Since January 2025, Juliette has been performing with Orchestre de Paris, following her selection for the Académie. With them, she has toured Europe and Asia under the baton of Klaus Mäkelä.
Juliette is a devoted teacher and in fall 2025 served as Visiting Violin Professor of Penn State School of Music for a sabbatical replacement. She is currently based in Brussels where she freelances and has a private teaching studio.
